hx35 wastegate

Has anyone had any issues wiring the wastegate shut on a hx35? I have a 93 that I put a hx35 exhaust housing and the wastegate won't fit. I put in a boost gauge and EGT, and have only done one turn of the power screw. I don't really pull anything heavy, should I have any isssues? Thought maybe I would make a cable operated wastgate control incase the boost got to high

Post this in the 12v Cummins section dude.. you'll get way more answers there. Wiring shut the WG is a bad idea in my opinion.

The wastegate is there to prevent the turbo from overspeeding. If you don't want a wastegate you need a turbo with a larger A/R housing so the engine won't blow it up.

im running a hx35 with a plugged wastegate im at 40 psi of boost it is fine for now if anything i might waste the charger but i want a bigger one anyway

At 40psi the turbo is extremely inefficient and overspeeding. Good luck saving your engine when the compressor grenades.

i have already popped a couple turbos both of mine shot the exhaust wheel out the stack and if it does it does you pay to play bud thanks for the good luck also

question what do u run?

Well, I'm running a stock 93 12v with 1 1/2 turns on the power screw and I have the stock H1C comp. housing and have yet to hit 20 psi, but I havn't been over 2200rpm's or pulled anything. I can't imagine that I'm gonna go much over 25psi on a stock 12v anyway, just not enough fuel
