Flashing Headlights/Foglights

Any way to do this

or

This would look very neat and flashy.
How much would doing somthing like this cost? has anyone done it?

The last time I thought about it as a nice add on to a car alarm.
The available chinese strobe units you can get for this are crap. They will burn out real quick and are sensitive to shock loads.

So I went to a police car outfitter. Those real powerful strobes are drilled into your headlight reflector.

The control box has to be installed in the engine bay.
The unit is a bit pricey- so I stepped back, expect around 400+$ Dollar for a pair of
strobes.
replacement or add-on bulbs are around 90$ EA.

So someone has spend some Dollars here...

WOW thats more than I thought.
Maybe someone will post where they got somthing similar for less lol

As I already wrote- you can get them as a China replica for 29$- Cheap as hell.
They do look cheap already.
But do not expect a Chinese firework....:w2:

Galls.com has a 60 watt power supply with two pair of strobes for $269.97

No, of course not.
The real ones have a much bigger strobe energy and bulb.
For that reason the released flash is brigther.
Also the repeat frequency is faster due to quicker recharge.

I use a wide range of the SHO-ME brand: Wig-Wag, Mini-Light bar strobes and LED flasher units with great success.

You can get a negitive or positive controlled wig-wag for your existing car or truck highbeams for around $65. See link below.

The controllers, wire harness and bulbs for the genuine strobe bulbs is big money.

We have had great luck using all of the above on everything from skidsteers to quad axle dumps. And they are made in the USA

for a good 45-50W curled strobe for a light expect to pay about a dollar a watt or so.. I think the 50 watters were like $50-60bux DO NOT GET EM WET controllers can be from 200-800bux, just depends on how many channels you want and patterning options. they usually last a few years before they go bad. the cheaper ones have a tendency to go bad when a strobe shorts out just right.
