converting a dually to a single wheel??

i have a 97 3500 dodge dually and ive been wanting for a long time now to change it over to a single wheel but i have no earthly idea on how to do it or what is involved in it so any help would be appreciated and if anybody has done this swap before please help lol pics would be great...
Thanks, Andrew

the front hubs would have to be changed the drw hubs are wider than srw's. I believe the rear is the same width either way though. other than that swap rims, and get rid of the drw rear fenders and hit the road. the hardest part as far as I know would be changing out the front hubs they can get expensive....

it started out as a cab and chassis so would that make a diff. when i go to put a bed on it?

going with wide / tall rims?

I don't see the fact that it was originally a cab chassis truck causing any issues unless it was designed for the 10ft flat beds or something as long as the 8ft bed will fit you should be good.

I would say you could leave the front hubs. You really just need to change the bed and get rid of the dual tire/wheel combo.

It seems like a pretty straight forward process but I dont know for sure

If you leave to drw front hubs on it would still work but would have a wider trac width in the front not saying it wouldn't work just some people can be OCD about some stuff. Also could come into issues with laws on width and possibly require fender flares to be legal depending on state and local laws. Then again that would also depend on back spacing of rims and what not.

ok i think ive got it now!!!! If ive read everything right what i need to do is 1. take the dual rear wheels off and put single wheels on it and a single bed. 2. take the spacer outta the front wheels and put regular wheels on it and ill be done!!!! ive got a set of 17x10 american racing wheels. thank you all

All you have to do is take the dually adapters off the hubs and bolt up your new wheels.
