Cooling fans in front of I/C?

Wanted to run this past you guys and see what you think.

Just put a 24v in my F 350 and things are tight. I am using the Dodge radiator and intercooler as opposed to using older/newer Dodge/Ford units.

I have the top of the frame notched so the Dodge radiator and intercooler can sit down lower.

I have them angled back and only really have room to put cooling fans in front of the Intercooler. I can fit 2 or 3 fans in a custom shroud in front without messing with the plastic light and grill support much.

Question is, will the 2 or 3 fans blowing thru the intercooler be enough to cool the radiator too?

im not sure if it'd be enough, but its not like you have the option to put them behind. i would of suggested a push pull combo if possible, but you can always go c02 spray on that intercooler as well.

how close is the back of the engine to the firewall in one of those pictures it looks like it could go back some maybe im wrong.

another option if you havent done this already is to get a body lift if you did then you could possibly sit the radiator and intercooler level and that could net you more room maybe not enough tho

I don't know if it's an option to change or not, but I can tell you the radiator and i/c from my 03 donor were narrower and taller than what you have shown. Mine fit between the frame rails no problem just a lot taller. I think the only way you'll know if the fan idea works is to try it out and watch your temps close.

No fan at all.

I do understand the problem of lacking space and would like to show you a factory solution in my Diesel Jeep Cherokee. The Intercooler is mounted below the radiator ( the black folded rectangular) The intercooler is doublelayered. Maybe thats a solution to your problem. You can use your fan and a intercooler below your radiator still works.

I'm thinking of adding a bigger intercooler too because there is a lot of usable space left and as we all know the rule of a thumb is: decrease the inlet temperature by 10° and gain3% performance.

I hope this picture gives you some inspiration:

http://up.picr.de/3377314.jpg As you can see the stuby is the mount of the visko fan. The radiator is in front of the engine visible under the black cover frame on top. Deep below that you can see the intercooler with the two connectors.

I'd put them behind if there's any way for you to do it. I put mine behind and it works well, I'm just thinking the turbulence between the IC and rad may be enough to stop the rad from being cooled well.
