K&N OIL filter?

Anybody used a K&N oil filter before? Are they worth the extra $$$$ I Like the wrench on Idea.

Ok, after using it several times I stopped it. The built in wrench thing isn't worth it.
Because I have a cheap special tool for every oil filter.

After knowing that the german military has tested the K&N filters and they failed due to bad fine filtration I can't see any advantages. Good brands are priced like the K&N and I don't need any safety wiring on an oil filter.

I really think about switching to additional bypass filtration.
Fine dirt and dust particles around 5 micron aren't caught by the main filter. the main isn't able to catch particles less than30 microns.
But these fine, small particles do the most damage to piston ring and turbo bearings.
I don't go for extended drain intervals, I just want to cut down the amount of fine particles.

I have seen a lot of semis having that bypass filtration or having an oil centrifugal filtration system. I think fleet maintenance has already learned to avoid early engine damage.
Why shouldn't I do the same?

I also kicked out my K&N Air Filter- I stick now with the stock air filter again.

I would stay away from K&N also. Stick with the OEM filter. or go to an Amsoil bypass setup.
