Medium Duty 5.9 Cummins
Howdy y'all! :howdy: I'm fairly new here, so don't be too mean...
I melted down the No.1 hole in my 1st Gen 12valve a few months back and was looking at a bore & sleeve rebuild on it, but I recently came across a fresh factory rebuild motor. It's a medium duty 5.9 12 valve Cummins with P-pump that came in a Ford CF8000 cabover box truck. It has a big Clark 5-speed behind it (I believe) that was also recently rebuilt. I can pick up they whole truck really cheap; they guy needs to get rid of it because the subdivision he lives in is complaining about it. Before I snag it, I was wondering what the major differences are between the medium duty and light duty Cummins? I know that it has different accessory mounting locations and there is an air compressor instead of a vacuum pump. Is there anything I should be wary of if I tried to pick this up to replace my blown 1st gen? :humm: Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |
I'm not sure about the differences. I'm sure there's a bit of an HP diff.. If you jump on this and don't need the air compressor, let me know.
