Home made Stacks???

hey guys, I have a 97 12V cummins, STD cab long bed. Someone at one point hacked out the stock muffler and *coughs* welded in a dynomax. The welds are all rusted, and never penetrated and its all rusted back anyway. So I was just going to get a 90 degree elbow, some strait pipe, and go right up through the bed between my tool box and bed, All the way in the corner so i can still fit drywall in, and go strait up. Any opinions?

I dont see any reason why that wouldnt work. If the exhaust is rusted and rotten you could get on Ebay and get a 4in exhaust with a new downpipe and all (mine was less than $260), buy a seperate 90 degree elbow from somewhere else and use the extra pipe for your stack.

ya, i dont see why that wouldnt...

**check your local laws, vut uf you have a turbo (which you do) you dont need a muffler. the turbo acts as the muffler

ok what i did was get 7" pipe and then made a base plate that is 1/2"thick. burned out a 5" hole for the 5 to 4" adapter and ran 9" elbow at the bottom

the stack gets bolted to the bed

i hope the pic helps

I see no reason why that would not work.
