Default DPF

New to this site, I have a 2010 cummins 6.7 and want to put a 4 inch straight pipe on it. Does 2010 have DPF? My truck has never gone into re gen and it has 193k miles on it, Ive done some research and every post I've read says it does. Wanting to make it sound better than stock but dont want a fat ticket if for some reason a cop checked. Also any recomendations on a exhaust system?

Welcome to DB. Gotta make it loud!!! I'm gonna say that it depends on what state you live, as to inspections. My brother lives in Pueblo, Colorado, and owns a muffler shop. He has a 2013 Dodge 4x4 dually with the mighty CUMMINS (deserves all capital letters) and 8 inch lift. Now, if I recall, he told me he did " the deletes" on it. He went with the 5" diamond eye exhaust system with muffler, and that he had hollowed out the DPF , fitted and welded a piece of 5" exhaust pipe through the DPF, and reinstalled. His truck is paid off and way passed the warranty anyway. Being that his truck is so high, the DPF is visible as is most of the exhaust system. He said he was pulled over once for "excessive exhaust noise" while pulling a car trailer and going u p-hill. He told the Officer he only changed out the muffler to free up the exhaust flow. He said the Officer looked underneath, and let him go.....no ticket. Find our what your emissions laws are where you live. That helps.
Now as for never going into re-gen, I really cant help you there. I have an 06, without all that emissions garbage. Someone may chime in for that answer.
