I have a 2000 cummins and I want to debadge it, im talking side moldings, door badges, tailgate cover. I inspected the side molding today and noticed my glue is already coming apart on the ends and there is a brown ring just under the edge of the molding(where car washes couldnt clean for 13 years) I tried using a little water on my finger and rubbing it off but it did nothing to it:dang: I would hate to get the molding and badges off just to have brown lines where it use to be. I know how to get the adhesive and stuff off just not sure about this brown dirt ring. I also noticed the paint under it seems to look pitted, would wet sanding it take that away? Ive included pics to help.

Simple buff with a wool pad and some cutting compound and finished up with a super fine grit polishing compound with a foam pad should take cafe of that easily

Try gasoline on a rag for the dirt ring or rubbing alcohol....

Thanks for the help guys! I did what Red_Rattler suggested and it came out great! I'm glad I stuck with it and did it cause the truck looks 110% better! I'm amazed how great it turned out, I was worried because its 13 years later and I'm pulling this stuff off but it looks like it came from factory without badges and moldings. I used a 3M "pinstripe remover wheel" from O'riellys ($48 bucks... Esh) to remove glue left on the paint followed by Red_Rattlers directions. :tu::jump::yeah: Thanks again for the help you guys :rocking:

DaveO go for it man, it's well worth it. I spent about 2hours working on it with my buddy and I believe an hour and a half was spent on drinking beer lol:tu:

I also used fishing line to cut the badges and moldings off. It helps to heat the badges with a hair dryer but side moldings just cut a bit of it and pulled it off by hand.
