Typical cruising EGT's ?

I've just installed my EGT gauge (yet to install probe since I'm missing some spare time) and I would love to know generally what kind of cruising EGT's (pre-turbo) I should see. My diesel is a stock 2.5 liter TD, IDI, intercooled, straight through exhaust.

What are typical cruise EGT's for a first gen Ram with the VE pump?

Thanks in advance.

I have a 2nd gen but on level ground running 70-75 mph I see about 3-5 lbs of boost and 700-800* egts.

Took it for a longer drive today :)

500-600F cruising in 5th at 1500-1800 rpm.

900F at WOT in 4th, up a big incline. Put it into 5th, kept the speed the same and the EGTs climbed to 1000F after another mile up the incline.

I guess it's time to start working on improving airflow to my intercooler and getting a bigger exhaust. Stock doesn't cut it even on the stock tune :td:
Then a bigger turbo is definitely coming :D

Nothing wrong with those numbers, you dont need to change a thing.

Anything below 1300 is fine.

Thanks for the input.

At some point after the 2.5" exhaust I am going to turn the fuel pin, would be a shame to leave it bone stock :)
