my friend Bandon that is building the 79 ford i was telling you about has one on his 2000 Super Duty, and is also using one on his 79 F350, he swapped a 10.25 sterling under it in place of the factory dana 60 rear in case your wondering.....they cost about 45 american depending on the dealership.....

those covers by the way guys will work on any Ford/Sterling rear axle wether it be 10.25 or 10.50......

thats about right considering the money difference......i cant wait to see the detroit install, just a question though??? why not a 4 wheel drive this time around??? i seen how far the F150 went before you sold it to get the diesel, or are you like me it keeps you from doing ALOT of the bad stuff you normally would in a 4x4???

clean the cover good and clear coat it and it will look 10X's better, trust me, keeps that white powdery film from developing on it and it looks a ton better

Can't wait to see it on Chris -- I'll see if I can get mine on before you! hahahaha

Highly unlikely though since I can't just walk down the street and order the Amsoil :(

Yes the covers cost about $45, but that is WITHOUT bolts... so, you can order them from vendors online with bolts and also with drain and fill holes drilled and tapped w/plugs for $58...

if i need to change my rearend fluid, i like to take a look inside the rearend, its just me i guess, i spray everything down with brakleen, wipe everything out, and check the spiders and bearings, i just dont like draining the fluid and replacing it, i guess im just weird like that......thats why not having a drain plug gives me a reason to take the pan off.....

Well I was going to buy a 4x4 but then I figured my main purpose for this diesel is to haul my enclosed trailer and have a good work truck and daily driver that is good on fuel .. So a good road vehicle not on/off road vehicle

Well my old blue F150 (that you saw go through a metamorphosis)was to be used for that exact same purpose until I lifted it 10" and stuck 37's under it with a detroit, then it got horrible mileage was under powered even with 4.88 gears and it was very impractical..

I figure if I got a 4x4 diesel id have it on 38's or 40's and it wouldn't really be a great tow vehicle (have to regear both axles)and id end up having a road queen because I would want it to look nice and not dented up and scratched up from trails... so my solution a fairly quick 2wd diesel that fits the family tows the trailer gets me from point a to point b .. the detroit isn't being installed to off road this truck its so I can leave a light with more then 1/4 throttle and not roast one tire off and it will be nice in the snow as well

my solution to the need to off road that I have cause its in me is

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c131/toqk4u/002-9.jpg

so i have the real fast street strip 79 F150
the off road don't care about looks 78 bronco
the ever so capable tow vehicle/daily driver the superduty

oh and Brant its not my fault I have so many connections/sources :w2::poak:
