Full tank of fuel before you park it with some additive in it, plan on a oil change when you get back and you will be fine.

Do NOT leave the tanks empty unless you plan on dropping them and cleaning the algae out of them.

and park it somewhere away from the mice/rats!!! i bought a truck recently that sat for a little bit and the mice made a next under the radiator area, inside under the dash, and also ate all the vaccum hoses off!!!

rent a storage unit that has been recently built, it may be expensive but worth it to avoid mice. and set mice traps and poison all the way around it. also it sounds dump but it works, leave the hood open, doors open, and put lint sheets "for drying clothes" all over the place in the cab and under the hood. when put my snowmobiles away for the winter i put them in my barn.. lots of mice.. i leave the hood and side panels open lint sheets and poison around and on the sleds, no mice touch them. no mice shit or anything

Why can't you have your truck while you're serving?

I did 4 years in the Army and had a vehicle the entire time (excluding schools and 'involuntary vacations').

I left for Basic and AIT, and right after reporting to my first duty station my parents brought my truck down.

I agree with above, TRUST me you will want your truck so you can have mobility. It will get lonely in the Barricks otherwise
