Twin turbo???
Anybody ever seen of a twin PSD in existence. Also how much boost can you realisticaly push into stock heads. And what would be the best Tranny upgrade to handle the added power of aftermarket components. So far the best research that I could muster shows the dreaded two(Banks and ATS) IMO thorough research done by the marketer goes a long way and from what I read the reasons that the majority do not like the two is b/c of the prices and some letters that have been posted to some diesel forums. Of course I am new to the diesel scene so what do I know. :humm: :w2:

Empire Diesel does twins. But they don't ship kits they do them in house.
They're also the ones working on the procharged powerstroke that Woody35 put it his thread https://www.dieselbombers.com/ford-t...rged-7-3l.html |
:pca1:
Since you didn't specify WHICH Powerstroke. My truck has two turbos on it. Has made 42psi of boost with everything stone stock. :5: http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...64_cutaway.jpg And all I had to do to get twins is sign up for 60 equal payments... :) |
Not to many out there. Lot more work to do then even a Duramax. Theres some twinned there is more twinned 6.0's then there's 7.3's.
There is some out there just not as many as say a Cummins. |
I was thinking of more like the 6.0/7.3 kind. But thanx anyway Hillbilly. And that is technically not a true twin turbo squential is more like it since both turbos do not boost the engine seperately from eachother but work mechanicaly connected off of one another. I was thinking like one turbo for each bank of cylinders. What about the other stuff I asked though. I know that there have some serious BD Drama over it, but nothing that I can find that is faction, mostly opinion.
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- sorry guys having a hard time spelling today evedently :rake: |
Theres a few out there. Theres onlt 2-3 companys that offer twin kits for PSD, but their is a few more working on kits to offer.
|
Yeah but what about ATS and Banks vs. everybody else.:humm:
|
there are alot of 7.3 compound turbo trucks out there. quite a few 6.0's i know one that makes 1004hp
i have seen one true twin turboed 7.3 stock heads can support 500-600+ w/o Porting and polishing.you will need fire rings, you will need stronger valve springs, keepers, valves etc.. thats on a 7.3 |

FWIW, I believe Zane at Wide Open had the first twin turbo 7.3. There are probably between 15 and 20 out there(two in my shop). IMO, more then one charger under the hood, would be twins. :D |
