Dead 7.3L need help!!!

Hey guys whats up! Im new to the forum and had my motor take a dump. Just had the truck serviced @ 121,000. been running mobile 1 since i bought it. 1k miles later the motor starts having a blueish smoke and is running like the damn thing is a BB with a crazy cam. On the way to the dealer ship i lose all mechanical power. motor locked up took it to the dealership i was told that motor burned through 16quarts in 1k miles with zero leaks and my turbo had imploded and i lost compression in my #8 cylinder? Any ideas would be greatly apperciated. Thank you...I was thinking maybe bad valves or a bent 1, or a bad ring in the #8.. And if the impellers self destructed can i get a wicked wheel to cure it or do i need like an ATS housing or just a new turbo all together?

I'm not following this too well. If the engine is locked up the turbo is the least of your worries.

Now for the problem at hand. If it runs out of oil it will likely stall before it does any damage. The injectors need oil to operate. I'm not sure I would believe what they are saying without proof.

From the description it sounds like a seal went out on the turbo and caused the oil lose.

my rear main seal leaks and i dont lose half a quart in 5000 mile. 7.3l only take 15 quarts

And as soon as the the oil can't get picked up from the pan, it shuts down. Check your fuel in the filter bowl. If it's clear like diesel usually is that's good, but if it looks like it has oil in it I would wonder if you had some injector o-rings go out. That would explain the smoke, the engine lope and maybe the loss of compression. The engine being locked up poses a bit more of problem. Things just don't quite add up.:humm:

Agree with the fuel filter. Believe lots of water can cause the same issue.

The turbo shaft may have broken, dumping all of the oil into the intake and hydralicing a cylinder

what weight mobil 1 was it ? psd's wont run long low on oil because of the hpop usually if you loose about half capacity they start to run shitty but if It ate a turbo first then :ouch:

If i were you I would take the truck elswere and get a second opinion, because it sounds like there gonna hang you out to dry over a moderate repair. none of that adds up.

Always get a second opinion. The average repair shop with rape you if your not careful.

My buddy has a 08 Tahoe, needed new front brakes. Went to the shop, they said he needed a new ball joint. He said ok, bought a new ball joint, new brakes. Driving home, it drives the same. wtf He brings to the house. I pull it apart. It still has the same yellow lock tight on main bolt. Looks like a wrench had never been on it before. They charged him for a new ball joint and never put it on. I was always told that yellow could only be used by a dealer. I always have used blue and red.
