LOL dont know how this got off track but I was racing a 59 Ford with a 292, 4bbl carb and 2 speed automatic, when I was 15 back in 1972. I graduated in 1974 and joined the ARMY as a diesel mechanic. In 1980 I changed MOS (Job) to 64C Truck driver, it was easier and more fun to break them than fix them. Yes I knew how to turn up the pump on my M52A2, I could make a 2 1/2 ton blow flames, much to the dismay of the German population. Alot has changed since then. I retired in 1995 and went into OTR trucking.Right now I'm in a 2005 Freightliner Classic with a 500 hp Cat (tweaked & tuned) and 13 speed, while I may not accelerate as fast as the pickups, dont try to match my top speed. And yes at 51 years old I still smile when I roll coal with a Duramax or Cummins, I dont always win, but I do run with the big dogs.:run:

Well guys, I think a stock duramax or cummins, will out run a stock psd, why ?? cause they are lighter than the ford !! But the ford body, and frame will out last the dodge & chevy !!!

:moon: Dmax-> PSD -> Cummins stock for stock. The ford body and frame will last longer eh? *cough*Bullcrap*cough* I'm curious though. What will you do when the warranty runs out and something breaks which requires you to pull the cab? I bet its going to be fun eating those 6 hours of shop time to GET the CAB off. Then the time spent FIXING the problem.

Unless your going to trade it off before that happens. Then that extra "longevity" does you no good and only costs you money. Last longer... :lol:

well number 1 the only major reason to pull the cab's off the new fords is to replace the second turbo. And as for warrentys im going to be interested when GM and Dodge go out of business and what happens to all of your guys warrentys?? they go in the garbage, Ford though made a heck of a turn around and are investing in the future of there company. cant say the same for the other 2. My dad is already thinking of trading his LMM Dmax for a new ford becuase of the shape GM is in.

Why is it that nobody can find a DURAMAX with 250,000 miles, WITH-OUT any engine repairs ??? Injectors have problems ??? What about IFS, not made to last, on a work truck ??? Go to a constrution site and see the big 3 trucks working, FORD & DODGE are pulling, towing, and carrying a load, and the CHEVY is the lunch-truck, that bring the food !!:ok1:

Don't buy a new truck. No worries about warrantys. Besides you can't bomb a truck under warranty so why bother? I understand there is this "OH I GOT THE NEWEST AND THE BESTEST!" But I can make an older truck faster and more capable and more suited to my particular style and wants for a lot less than spending money on a new truck that is slower and doesn't suit me. It's funny that you talk about the future like its already happened. What if Ford goes out of business too? Just because they are your favored brand doesn't mean you have to stick your head in the sand and deny reality. The future is uncertain and Ford is not omnipotent and can fold as easily as GM or Dodge. You do realize the PSD is an International right? And not a Cat motor?

I don't know about the Dmax. My experience with them is limited. We don't have many construction sites out here. But we have a lot of ranches. The overwhelming truck of choice here is Dodge Followed by Ford(mostly 7.3). I know the Dmax has made a name for itself in bombing game and I think the IFS vs. straight axle has as much a chance at being won as the endless GM Vs. Dodge vs. Ford debate.
