Default 2005 f350 idi

So i just picked up a 2005 f350. 4dr. 4x4. Short bed. 6spd. Bare bones xl model. Only down side.....it has a 5.4 3v in it....totally gutless.

I used to have a 83 6.9 4spd. Loved it. Great mpg. Loud. Proud. And pulled anything.

So i did some research and found that the 6spd i have will bolt to a 6.9 or a 7.3 idi.

Powerstroke clutch is a bolt on aswell.

So i called around and southbend said that the only issue with this idea is that the idi pilot bearing is different then the powerstrokes. But that for $850 the will sell me a hd clutch kit modified so that it will all be a bolt in.

So i am waiting on my new 7.3 to be droped off. Then it off shoping for a turbo kit. And powerstroke mounts.

I use this as a recovery truck on the beach so having the lowend grunt will be amazing. As time goes ill be doing my best to post progress and pics.
