OLD E.M.S. TRUCK

I lose a gallon of coolant in about two weeks, just found out from shop, it the head gasket. I was told cost to fix this problem was going to be $3850.00, to make it "BULLET PROOF" is what I was told. Yes I am female, not dumb, I know the work that has to be done to do this job. My question is, does this price sound right and is there such a thing as being "BULLET PROOF", those were his words. I have a 2003 f350 twin turbo diesel flat bed.:s:

honestly, sounds about right on a diesel truck.
hell, it's 2500 for a 3.9L chev V6 these days.

by bulletproof, the shop will mean stronger head studs, and a thicker, stronger head gasket.

Twin turbo? Definatly a head gasket lol.

Probably they are referring to using ARP head studs instead of the factory torque to yield head bolts.

Is the engine in your truck a 6.0 or a 7.3?

And it's an EMS truck, is it an Econoline or an F-series?
