7.3 looses power and then runs fine

My 2001 7.3 starts and runs fine until it is warm, it then looses power like it is only running on 4 cylinders, it barely drives and then all of the sudden it runs fine for a minute or so and then starts running rough again...any ideas?

I'm no tech, and hopefully one chimes in soon, but I'd check fluid levels to start with. Low oil, or what the engine thinks is low oil (stuffed pick up tube or bunged up oil sensor)
Like I said, I'm no tech but thats where I would start without a scanner.:s:

CPS first if you don't have scanner access. Check your hpop oil level as well.

CPS usually end up causing a stall or brief cutout.....not dropped cylinders.

The HPOP Resivour has a plug on the top...you remove the plug and check the level, should be roughly 1" from the top.

changed the oil, filter, fuel filter, hpop level is fine. drove it again last night, runs fine until it reaches temp and then acts like it is running on 4 cylinders, parked it and shut it off, restarted it and it was fine for a couple minutes...

As was said earlier...

Its your UVC harness. Remove the valve covers and replace. Drive happly.

seems weird that it can act up and by turning the engine off and imedieatly re start it and it is fine for a couple minutes. Im not the expert but seems a harness connection would stay unhooked. buy I'll try anything at this point.

Its because of how the IDM and PCM take in the data. Trust me, one side or the other has a loose or burn connection.
