---AutoMerged DoublePost--- and what kind of scanner do you have? |
yes the CPS my bad
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- scanner is a Superchip 1705 |
have you checked ALL the fuses in you cab and underhood, i dont mean did you shine a flashlight and say they all look good i mean like pull each one and check em one at a time, ALOT of ppl had the fuel bowl heater fuse pop and thatll cause a no start
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- i have heard of another member on here gettin a new cps and it be bad brand new too though...:humm: |
I unplugged the fuel heater and no change in starting. I did pull each fuse and mixed the like fuses in different spots maybe thinking one may be bad and not able to see iwth the eye
can you use your superchip to see your icp and ipr readings?
no it just states no codes
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- when i moved the relays around i got my WTS light to glow, but no change in the cranking sound. |
How fast are you cranking above 600 RPM. But you may need to check your ICP and IPR sensors if your not getting more than 600 PSI of oil pressure then you will not start. if you dont have any of that pressure it can be you high pressure oil. Pump
My tach does not move at all
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- How would i test the ICP |

---AutoMerged DoublePost--- How would i test the ICP To test the ICP, simply unplug it and try to start. Also check the plug for oil. If there is oil in it, or it runs unplugged, the ICP needs to be replaced. |
my truck is a 2000 i mistyped. I got the cps from the Ford Dealership
You can go get a high pressure guage and swap it out with the ICP sensor and see how much pressure you get when you crank. It has to be over 600 PSI to start. If you go this route buy a 1000-3000 PSI guage or if you push oil into the guage with a 600 PSI guage your ok...
Is this a guage i can buy at Autozone ? If i have less than the required what will be the fix?
possible hpop or ipr valve, but you really need a gauge or good scanner b4 doin any parts...
ok, so the guage can i buy it at auto store
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- make sure that i am going to theright place where is it located? |
your local napa or the like would probly have one... you may need and adapter i belive, have you unpluged the icp sensor and tried to start with that unplugged?
i think i have can you tell me where located
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- What i believe to be te ICP sensor is to the right of the fuel bowl, i unplugged seems like alot of fuel or oil is on the plug when i removed, when unplugged made no change in starting. Motor continues to crank but not start. |
if there is oil in the sensor then it is bad and right behind the alternator on the drivers side head so you should have the right one.
Yea this was right behind alternator, i did unplug but it still not crank... didnt i read that it would start when unplugged ?
only if its just the sensor bad but you get the gauge on it and that will tell you that the high pressure oil pump is working so you can rule that as not being the problem
ok, so to replace this oil pump if that proves to be the culprit.. where is it located? i hope not inside the engine
1 Attachment(s)
it on the top just underneath the fuel bowl
Thanks... i looked at a video it shows replacing O'rings do i just rebuild it or can a rebuilt one be on exchange?
if the pump is bad you would replace it with a new one yes, but once you check the pressure then you will see if you need to look more into the high pressure oil system or if its elsewhere, if you put a gauge and there is low pressure that dont garuntee that the pump it could be a bad or clogged ipr valve as well but the gauge will help alot in diagnosing the prob and get you goin in the right direction...
ok i will try to get one tomorrow from the auto store do appreciate you responses
thats y were all here...:c:
pressure guage i just take out the sensor and connect guage in its place and turn the engine over to get the pressure for starting right?
yea you need to be able to watch the gauge while trying to start it and yea unplug the sensor pull it out put the gauge in that spot (possibly may need an adapter) try startin it and see what it reads
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- if they dont they will tell you where you can get one and if you dont have proper pressure then youll move on to make sure your ipr valve is in good condition or if it needs new orings or cleaned or replaced... |
