Thrust Angle Question
2 Attachment(s)
My 02 F350 Crew Cab 4X4 DRW was hit in the left rear corner while it was parked (Take a look at the picture).
The lady that hit it had State Farm insurance and I must say they took care of me. Looking back the truck should have been totaled. $18,400 later she is back on the road. Last week I did new upper and lower ball joints plus a drag link. I took it to the alignment shop to have it dialed in. The print out shows the thrust angle is off .84 of a degree. Did Ford ever have it set at 0? My question is, do I take it back to the body shop to try and fix it? I am not sure if it is worth putting my truck back under the knife or not. What do you all think? Thanks... Tom |
Dont hold me to it but I believe that thrust angle is the way they measure axle alignment "trueness" meaning that if your off the truck is dog tracking a little bit because the rear axle is crooked and given the pics, Id believe it!

I was not sure at .84 of a degree should I mess with it? I had one guy tell me at less than a degree don't worry about it. In a perfect world it should be 0 degrees. But I don't think that will happen. Thanks... Tom |
Trucks come off the line from day one at 2-3*... Your fine.
Drive your fixed truck and enjoy. |
