01 7.3 turbo running w/issues 392k

Started normally yesterday, let idle for about 5-10 mins then about a mile down road I noticed a loss of power under acceleration and white/blue smoke which smells. This happened about 3 months ago and I ended up replacing fuel pump which fixed the problem. I'm thinking bad pump again. I can run it under low acceleration and it starts and runs normal.
I can hear the pump but is not a steady buzz, sounds like it has a skip.
I checked fuel filter drained the bowl and let it fill and it started and still at about 2300 would start to sputter and smoke.
Any ideas ??

Thanks

How much fuel is in tank could have bad diptube and sucking air had this prob with my 99 as for the smoke? Not shure there hope this helps u!

With that many miles on it I would drop the tank and check the screens inside the tank. You could check the fuel pressure as well, but that would require you to add a gauge.

Fixed itself ????

:jump: Well well I happened to start it today and somehow it cleared up while letting someone listen to it. I drove it 20 miles today and seems to be ok. I do like the idea of dropping the tank to inspect and clean the filters. Maybe it was a shot of water ??? Fuel pump was not sounding normal so maybe it did pick up some debris.

Thanks for your help guys I'm sure I'll be back.
