Question on blow- by

My 99 seems to have a little more blow- by than I remember it having. What exactly causes blow-by? The pickup has 162K on it with the mods in my sig. It runs good but this just has me a little concerned.

Blow by is caused by havin combustion gases get past your rings and down too your crankcase where it then moves tryin to get out just like water takes weakest point which normally is your ccv crankcase vent but if esseive it'll make its way out a valve cover or dipstick tube, take ur oil fill cap off flip it as long as the blowby don't blow it off(if vibrates ur fine) then nothin to worry bout butif it does id get a compression check done pronto could be worn rings scored cylinder some kind of critacal damage...

ok. i might just be imagining too. i'll flip the oil cap and see. should i plug my ccv tube to see how much comes out of the oil cap?

now say it's something critical, is there a way to know with out removing the heads to tell if there is a scored cylinder?

you could but most just do the quick test with it stock and if you do it might make you think you have more of a problem then you actually do, as far as i know the only test you can do with fully assembled is a leak down and that will tell you if you got a cracked or burnt valve type of issue
