I have a milemarker mounted on my car trailer it's a POS :c:

articfox 04-06-2012 10:47 PM

i figured as much i was hoping there was another company who made a decent winch for less than a warn winch

Wenches er I mean winches are expensive :w2:

articfox 04-08-2012 07:36 PM

yeah they last forever tho and great to have because you never know when you need one

fordornothing 04-09-2012 06:10 PM

there has been several times i've needed one, but the biggest thing to tie off to was a hunk of sage brush. LOL

articfox 04-09-2012 07:48 PM

lol same here problem is there was never any big trees to tie to pull myself out, that and it would help alot pull logs out of the way

There's low price winches on ebay that claim to have a 3 year warranty. Also if you think winches last forever I have a milemarker I'll sell ya:w2:

ive been pulled out a couple times by a 12k harbor freight winch, its a re branded mile marker, it was slow, but got the job done. They are CHEAP too, i know 4 wheel mag did a couple reviews not too long ago

as for a sage brush...a "pull pal" works great for that, or a larger boat anchor(seriously)

ive seen so many of those winches snap before i tend to try to stay away from harbor fright they make some good other stuff but not just winches. good chains tho they are the same as you would buy from northern tool or tractor supply

My mile marker is a hydrollic one, it's hooked up through my power steering pump. Pos!

I've got a milemarker 12K winch but have never used it. Good price if you compare to others... Not much to a winch really though. If you keep it clean and dry (ish) it will do the job. I have a cheap winch on my ATV(4,500 lb on a Thundercat) and it has lasted through a lot of use... Pulling atv's, utv's, dually trucks, tractors, trees... The Warn I had first was only used once or twice before it broke. Granted it was smaller but Warn compared to Promark... If the full size rig winches are as good you might find them worth the money? Here's a link

Maybe someday I'll actually get that milemarker mounted to something and see if it holds up? LOL!
