Would a spectre intake filter work good for a DIY intake? Or is it junk like the k&n

For a filter just run a 6637. biggest and best you can do. Jody from DP Tuners is a wizard when it comes to custom chips. Really does depend on driving habits. On my 99 doin 65 and driving like a grandma I get around 17 on eco, 13 hot, 10 stock. On my old 96 reg cab, lb, stick doin 65 again I could get into the mid 20's, best ever was 27.2 but that was empty doin 55 MPH in Mn. Stock it got 15.5ish, hot 17-18ish.

Always gauges before chip. 30 seconds of unwatched fun and you can toast your motor. EGT's are a quick death for any diesel

Thanks a bunch y'all....I'm going to start with the DIY intake, then get the pod and gauges, the i'll work on the DP chip. It's hard to go out and drop $600 or $700 on my truck right now..
