should i put my edge in tow mode?

im fixing to haul a empty car hauler trailer ( 18 feet long) its a 7 hour trip , so with just the weight of the trailer should i but my edge in the tow setting just to be on the safe side and for good habit? ( i know i would for something heavy) or not at all ? :humm:

All depends on the load. The purpose of a tow tune is to reduce EGT's. What model edge do yo have? If it doesnt have tranny tunes then tune choice is only heat related. I pull goose neck all the time on my custom 140hp tune because it stays cool enough and it has tranny tunes with it. Basically if the load is light thus keeping EGTs down and tranny temps down there would be no need for the tow tune but keep in mind that wind resistance gives more load than weight. Drive tune should give you better mileage running empty than eco since eco is programed for an empty truck were as drive accounts for some load but I could be wrong on this

Do you have gauges to keep an eye on temps?
