Up and died

It's a strange one. On the way home from work my truck just died. Truck would crank, the ocasional sputter, but no start. After looking around at fuses, I pulled #30, put it back in, and the truck started. About a half mile down the road it dies again, but for some reason I reached down and pushed on #30, the truck restarted on its own. A block away from home, it died, and pushing #30 did not work. This time cycling the key, and on the 3rd or 4th time it started. During this whole episode, I had no CheckEngine lights or any other indicators, that's what has me stumped. If IDM, fuel pump, ect. had lost power, shouldn't I have gotten a light of some sort?

This weekend I'm going to replace the fittings in the fuse box for #30 fuse, that will make it a nice tight hold on the fuse.

I'm a bit aggrevated about this and not completely thinking clearly...Does anyone have thoughts on what else to check? The stealer wants $260 to scan and run tests, not letting them empty my pockets for this.

try unplugging the fuel heater.

Fuel heater is already unplugged, I had the "blowing fuse" issue a just over a year ago. I'm not blowing the fuse, the dang thing is lose and bumps will cause the truck to die. :dang: I'm going to bypass the fuse box (#30) and install an inline fuse, don't have the time to replace the clasps at the moment. Any ideas on why hitting bumps in the road will kill it?:humm:
