f250 to dually

What's it take to change a 00 f250 to a dually.

Vin number and all the dually parts...

It will never be a true dually, and will never legally tow what a F-350/450 can.

Just like the look of a dually. Want lifta it with oversize tires. Just wondering if you have to change the spindles or just the hubs.

You just need the spacer that bolts to the single wheel hub.

Cant you take it to an inspection through the DMV in your state and get the registration reclassed for a higher GVW. I've been told in NY you can have a gasser reclassed to diesel so it dosn't have to go through emissions testing. :pca1:

Not in Wisconsin, not changing the engine type. Diesels have emissions here as well.

BUT, you can have it plated at 10,000 lbs, and it won't have to go through emissions. That doesn't change the legality of it though. You can plate the vehicle whatever you want. The GVW on the truck stays the same. Get pulled over and they check the plates, and the GVW of the truck, and always take the lower number into account if you're over weight. :nope:

The OP is in Texas, I know every state has different laws, but it's worth looking into. I know on big trucks they change or add axles to increase the GVW, niot sure on light trucks though.
