Default 1999 Powerstroke Problems

Hey guy, i have a question about my powerstroke. ok so my alternator went bad and started to drain my battery, replaced it, about 2 months later my truck starts to have problems starting when it got cold and it dies when i turn my windshield wipers on. And someday it runs fine and some days it runs lopey and crap like. Any ideas whats wrong with her?

I would like to know about the wiper thing too. The 02 my boss drives has the same problem sometimes. With the wipers on it acts like you turned the key off for a second and then runs just fine for a while. It happens at random times.

is it raining out when when this happens? have you ever re-sealed any doors or cowls or the windshield? has anyone ever had the steering column apart?

does it seem to run crappy on cold days or warm? or both?

how many miles on the truck? any mods? aftermarket fog lights or spot lights? or has anyone ever done some wire hacking under the dash?

also what are your maintenance habits? fuel filters, oil, etc...

The truck is dead stock, about 150k miles but I had to put a used engine in it for him last year because the previous owner had run it with a bad injector in #8 until it had low compression there. Then the HPOP went out and it was cheaper to get a complete used engine than do all the work on the one that was in it. The engine I put in came out of an e99 so I had to change a lot of outside parts from the old engine to make it work. The only time he runs the wipers is when it rains but it doesn't seem to matter if it a cold rainy day or a hot summer rain. Nothing has been resealed since he got it but I can't say what was done by the previous owner. There are no leaks into the cab. It is dry inside even in the hardest rain so it shouldn't be an issue with the fuse panel. No aftermarket stuff on it. I don't see any signs that the harness has ever been disturbed. The maintenance could be improved on. The oil and filters have not been changed as often as they should. The fuel filter was changed about 3 months ago. It is almost impossible to start cold unless the block heater is plugged in but when I did a buzz test only 2 or 3 are buzzing right so it needs injectors. It runs OK after it starts and warms up a little.

has the multi-function switch ever been messed with (left/right signal, wipers, high/low beam switch)? if im not mistaken, im pretty sure a major power wire runs through that switch to your ignition

It sounds to me like a short with the windshield wipers and bad injectors?
