I had a similar problem (2001 7.3L).

I assume that Ford checked everything electrical.

I wasted money on a camshaft sensor before I talked to Brandon at a shop that lets you talk to their diesel techs. He said first check the IPR...and while I was looking for it, I saw breaks and/or fraying in the wiring going to the wastegate controller, the injection pressure regulator sensor, and the fuel bowl heater.

The first and last I could solder/mend, but had to replace the IPR plug (about $30, dealer only item).

Wouldn't hurt to check the wiring harnesses for frayed or broken wires.

I'm gonna try changing cps the. Tach does not move when turned over.

I had that same "no tach" problem, which was why I (wrongly) changed the camshaft position sensor.

Have you checked to see if any codes have been triggered? Bet you have one or 2, given that it did run a bit before crapping out again.
