lifts and hauling ?

i was thinking about putting a lift on my truck but i haul my bobcat and my tractor on a trailer every other weekend i was wondering if i lifted my truck 4 inches if it would break my lift. i know i gotta get a lowered ball hich for my truck if i do lift it but thats not to hard i was just wondering if there was any other problems with a lift hauling a heavy load any suggestions or advice ?

95powersmoker 12-22-2011 10:09 PM

Joe's truck is lifted and he has done some serious hauling...

wow nice man what have u had done to it it looks realy nice man

fox2boost 12-23-2011 08:35 PM

Wow what happened to that back tire? Nice truck, great when people actually use them for what there intended.

fordornothing 12-23-2011 09:59 PM

it just looks a little goofy when the back end sags. unless you have like a 12" lift. then the front end comes off the ground lol

The hosser 12-27-2011 02:13 PM

go with a leaf springs. stay away form blocks. you will have a little bit of a harder ride but you wont have to worry about losing blocks from your rear end.

articfox 12-27-2011 04:55 PM

who makes rear leaf springs ? n how more expensive are the leafs than the blocks?

Clark Kent 12-27-2011 08:03 PM

what the heck happen to that tire back there.

She can get towed too...LOL

The only thing with towing heavy, is buying the drop hitch rated for what you are doing. Pricey little suckas.

All of my trucks have been lifted with a block... Never had a single issue. Not once, in 1.2 million miles of driving these trucks.

Just run a block (single block but a block) and be done.

Good advise on the hitch!

The tire I am not sure, they were used tires I ran when I tore the sidewall off a Toyo MT (something on the road)... I was a few weeks away from wanting to install new MT's so I threw these used tires on, about 2 weeks later coming home that happened! Lucky I had the bronco on the trailer, backed it off and drove it home. Jumped in the Ex and put mine on the trailer.

4" lift and 37's...

http://inlinethumb18.webshots.com/44...600x600Q85.jpg

03Powerstroke 12-27-2011 09:52 PM

do they rub any? i want 37s on mine without a 'BIG' lift

CSIPSD 12-27-2011 10:05 PM

Stock offset on the wheels...

They rub on the springs at full lock, but that is it.

03Powerstroke 12-27-2011 10:12 PM

im gana do it then, what kinda mpg's do you see?

CSIPSD 12-28-2011 09:55 AM

You have to keep in mind I am running larger injectors... Since a week after I got this truck its been on 37's so I cant tell you what it was before...

http://inlinethumb49.webshots.com/42...600x600Q85.jpg

However I get about 12-13 or so, dont really care about mileage, I drive a 9k truck because I want to! LOL

articfox 12-28-2011 01:56 PM

I beg to differ...

Toyo MT's are the only tire that go on any of my trucks.

50-60k out of each set, in 8 sets between the Excursion and my truck we have never had a flat or any other issue. They take less then 3oz each to ballance, run true, E rated to 4200# each...

I'm sorry but your barking up the wrong tree for Toyo's. I'm about due for another set in a few months, and will go right back to Toyo MT's.

You could not PAY me to run BFG tires, I would rather walk...

articfox 12-28-2011 07:54 PM

personal opinion i guess i just had toyos n they sucked maybe a bad set of tires it they only gave me 40,000 miles rotated and balanced still no luck rough ride i also don't like that they r made in japan. i tryed to get some customer service nothing 3 separate times just terrible. id rather have something made in america im looking at getting some general tires

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

what kind of fenderflares do you have on that truck factory?

CSIPSD 12-28-2011 09:08 PM

There factory Ford flares.

strokinf350 12-28-2011 09:51 PM

Nothing wrong with a properly installed set of blocks. I have over a million miles driving lifted PSD's... ALL with blocks and NONE had a single issue.

97powerstroker 01-01-2012 07:14 PM

I've always had bad hopping and axle wrap with a set of blocks, but that's on my 79 Chevy so idk about a newer bigger Ford

03Powerstroke 01-01-2012 07:17 PM

^^^ can you get me a good deal on some Toyo's??

I work at Les Schwab, the Any Toyo tire is our top of the line tire. Depends on who you buy the tires from on what kinda warranty you get but i know our tires come with a full replacement warranty. you can run over a knife and we'll replace it. My whole family runs toys (eclipse, A/T, M/T, and M-55) if there is a problem with the tire i just take it to Schwab and they'll fix it or replace it free of charge. Nothing against Bfgs but they are made in mexico so i guess take your pick if your buying a tire because of where they come from.

articfox 01-01-2012 08:13 PM

the bfgs i got were made in the usa sc

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

fordornothing 01-01-2012 08:18 PM
