01 psd oil blowby with moisture

Hi, I just got my truck delivered and just got to take a look at it. I have some pretty serious blowby and the oil is milky.... Is there somewhere I'n common that could cause these conditions? It was adverdised with NO BLOWBY? Help, Artie

Blowby is normal... The milky oil would concern me...

I would be checking for headgasket, cracked head, block, leaking oil cooler gaskets. have seen the blocks crack at main webbing and get misdiagnosed as headgasket/head problem.

When I bought it he said "no blowby" and it was in the trucks description. I'm thinking on taking it to a dealer to check it out? One Ford shop quoted 125.00 hour... wow kinda high for the midwest area? I'm hoping for a oil cooler issue? My friend has the same year and about the same miles and we took off his oil fill and there wasn't ANY blowby? Always something, any more ideas let me know, Artie

Both my powerstroke's have blowby. Normal. Start with diagnosing the oil issue.

the " blow by" is probably just more noticable because of steam associated with the cooling sys. problem

what i would do is bring it right back :rocking:

how many miles are on the truck?

Head gaskets are not a common sight on a 7.3, however the oil cooler is after so many miles. usually these "bundle" type coolers will leak internally into the oil system, you wont see any drips outside. It's not a part defect, the normal is rotting out from the inside. thats most likely your cause.

if not im just thinking its condensation built up in the crankcase from sitting, or lots of short distance trips. knowing the mileage would really help at this point

yea chances are that cooler hasnt been touched. hows the coolant level?

artieb 12-14-2011 05:37 PM

OK, The problem I have with the oil cooler concept is oil pressure is 40ls +/- coollant pressure cap goes off at 16 lbs Wouldn't I have oil in the antifreeze? I have a coolant leakdown tester, but no adapter for the Fords cap, dam it. Would someone let me know if I'm missing something, Thanks guys for sticking with me, Artie
