Glow plug, plug in repair?
Hey guys noticed my plug in o my truck was smoking so I unwrapped the electrical tape around it and one of the wires isn't connected it's broke. Is there and way I can't just cut the other two and splice it into a new plug?
Thanks Adam --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=39.475566,-84.475109 |
Buy a male cord cap and replace the old one. or you can just buy a whole new cord for the block heater. there about 110$ form ford. i would try the cord cap first. :tu:

Cord cap, like just a plug where It comes apart and then u can wire it and put it back together.

yep. i beleive the wire with lettering is the "Hot- gold screw" the other one is the "Nuetral- silver screw" then the bare wire in the middle is the "Ground- green screw" you might need to wrap some electrical tape around the wires so when you pinch the cap down it actually seals it off. don't over tighten it...

Yes Cord Cap. If you don’t want to go that route, replace it. Oh and liquid electrical tape will do the trick. And works better then tape. I would use both.

but with the liquid stuff you have to let it dry several times if you need to build it up.

Ok, guys thanks. I taped it back up last night and plugged it in and made sure it wasn't smoking but it actually started first turn of the key

I didn't see the liquid stuff, but wasn't really looking hard at walmart.
