Smoke out
I have a 2001 7.3L F250 with 200,000 miles that is not doing well. It smoking BAD when hot and has a clicking sound. It's throwing codes P0308, P1211, and P1670. It just has code P0308 before, cylinder 8 misfiring, but I was driving it today and under acceleration it started doing the clicking and smoking randomly. It now smokes enough to not be drivable but get's worse when it's hot. Where should I go from here?

Here's a sticky that will help you out. https://www.dieselbombers.com/ford-p...d-2-codes.html

Is it white smoke? Might have a injector o-ring that cracked. My buddy has a 95 and his did that last week, clicking and mass amounts of white smoke. New o-rings and it all went away. hope this helps

I'll try and replace the O-rings, if it's just that then I will be very happy. The sticky indicated that the only cause of a P0308 code is mechanical failure of the motor, is this true?

It might be worth taking those injectors out and sending them off to a place like Rosewood to have them flow tested. Also might be worth while to get a compression test done on that motor..
