Don't be afraid to use the search button... Remember, most questions you ask have already been asked at some point before you... Take a quick look, if you don't find anything that answers your question, ask away.. Lots of good info on this site...

really i just use it for everyday driving and occasionally i use it for towing. but im really into big power and mods. i want too blow smoke at the yahoos out there that think im slow but also want the power to back it up. i have about 220000 miles on her so i want to take it easy and only about 1500 bucks to spend on injectors. i dont want too go too crazy but i want too have more power.

I'm gonna give you a little piece of advice... Quit with the smoke talk if you want help... If that's what your after cool, but it is absolutely screwing up our hobby. I love diesel power but I'm becoming more and more disgusted with all the yahoo's that come onto these forums looking for smoke. It is only getting our sport looked down upon and heavily regulated. Have you seen all the emissions crap they put on our diesel trucks nowdays? Guess what the reason is... Not the yahoo's you like spewing smoke on... It's the yahoo spewing the smoke...

fair enough. not looking for big smoke just a little to make my presents know. thanks for the info.

do you want info on what injectors will best suit your needs or do you need info on how to change them?

i was looking for both really. never done injectors and only read a little about them.

Use the search, there's been several writeups on how to remove and install these injectors. Be ready to swear a little about valve cover bolts in REALLY bad places, but a little patience and persistence and you'll be in there. A trick we use is in the middle, when your "ready" to install the new injectors, stuff a rag in the back injector bores and bump the engine over to blow any oil or fuel out of the back bores.

Don't be cheap on buying the injectors or you'll be sad, if the shop sells on ebay, then they suck :td:. I buy swamps, they're good and they offer good customer service, Beans is great on both ends, and so is Rosewood, I'm sure there are some others, but those 3 have not only known quality injectors, but they also have custom tunes for the TS tuned in for their injectors, nothing generic. So you know the tunes will make power and work awesome for your injectors to get the most power out.

Like was said before, smoke is a joke, a smoke tune DUMPS fuel into the engine, low rpms + lots of fuel = rolling smoke, also means hammer down + over fuel = blown head gaskets. Make power first, with that will come sufficient smoke off the line backed up by power you can use. bragging is stupid, but a dually that can roast tires and rolls coal to fill the intersection and then rips the tires in a 1-2 shift ain't nothing to sneeze at. Imagine if it had some stage 2's or 3's, forged rods so I could really get into it, and a 38r....

Sweet i will look into it. i had the valve covers off last winter when i put in the glow plugs. i guessing it will not be too difficult form what i have read. i do not need new injectors just looking for more power. and yes smoke is a joke if you do not have the power to back it up...

i tried the stuffing the rag in the bore. it blew the rag off and made a mess in the shop. put the VC back on with 1 or 2 bolts just hand tight and crank it over a few times. make sure you can see the hole in the bottom of the cup. after you get them in and you drive it don't freak out if you see a little oil in your exhaust or a little white smoke. a little oil will get into the combustion chamber. injectors really arn't that hard, just a little time consuming.
