EGT gauge wiring

I just got my EGT gauge. But the instructions on wireing are too confusing to understand. Could anyone tell me what to wire this thing to? It says one wire goes to a 12V constant power source (fused) and one to a switched 12V power source?:argh:

Depending on the manufacture...

You need a constant hot (as in the battery or using a probe find a wire under the dash that is hot all the time) for the constant.

You need a key on power, meaning find a wire with a probe that is only on when the key is in the run setting.

You need a ground (there may be one for lighting and one for the gauge itself-these can both be run together).

You need to tap the dimmer switch for the lighting circuit...

Just cruising, 5-700. Keep 1250 in the back of your mind as a number not to exceed for anything more than short blips...
