Fly Wheel

My uncles fly wheel has went bad again for the 4th time. He has been buying them from napa or auto zone I cannot remember which, but we were talking and wondering if there is a fly wheel out there that it built dtronger than the ones he has been getting and how much $$$$ it cost. His have been costing $50

For that cost I would assume you have an automatic. The flywheel is really called a flex plate and they usually don't go bad anywhere near that fast unless something else is wrong and putting stress on them. The tranny front bushing might be bad and letting the torque converter overstress the flywheel. The other possibility is the bolts are either not being tightened enough or they are backing out. Exactly how is it going bad? braking at the crankshaft bolts, at the torque converter bolts or something else?

I am not for sure i will ask him how its breaking
