Looking for 400-500hp, what mods and in what order?

I am looking for 400-500hp, what mods should I do and is there a specific order it has to be done in, was thinking about a 6 position chip, stage 2 cold air, 38r, maybe injectors. What brands and what models of parts work well together, there are so many different injectors out there, how do you choose? What does the % of nozzle signify, what is better, 30%, 60%, 100%? Can I do upgraded injectors before the other stuff because my injectors may be going bad?

Intake
Exhaust
Gauges
Tranny mods
Hybrid injectors
Studs, springs, pushrods
Turbo
Custom tunes

Larger nozzles empty the injector faster... Deciding how to pick injectors is easy, pretty much whatever floats your boat. Pick a size that is going to fit in your goals. For your goal, some 238cc hybrids with a 80 or 100% nozzle would work.

Can I replace the injectors first? What is a hybrid, what does it mean?

Ok, but why do so many over lap one another? There is atleast 2 to every hp range.

It has a lot to do with other variables involved... A small hybrid is what you should be looking at. Doesn't matter if it's a 200cc, 238cc, 250cc, you will get in your goal with any of those, just depends on what side of your range do you want to be... There is no right answer, it's whatever you want...

If those are small what is a large?

Because one injector will make the bottom end of that range fine, but will be pushed to make the top end, where another injector will make the top end of the last range...

A stage 2 will make 340hp easy, but will struggle to make 400-410... A small hybrid (200cc or so) will make 340 without breaking a sweat and 450 is pushing it... A Standard hybrid (238/80) will make 400 easy, but struggle to make 500... and so on...

450hp guaranteed build...

38R
238/80 or 238/100 hybrids
Stock oil...

No studs, springs, or such are NEEDED, but if your going to run it hard all the time it is recommended.

You will need a good solid tranny to go behind it as well.

A good Regulated Return fuel system is also a good add on.

Great, thanks, you have been most helpful, now to look up how to obtain a regulated fuel return, unless you have a recommendation? I have a solid tranny, has alot of upgrades and hooks up strong. What are the stages about, I heard that a stage 1 air intake is a filter in the stock box, and a stage 2 is a whole new box, is that true? What other stages are there and what are the differences? Whats the difference between a stage 1 injector and a stage 2 injector and so on?

Driven Diesel 7.3L "Standard" Regulated Return Kit

Best kit on the market right there...
If you want to spend a bit more and delete the factory fuel bowl this is what I have...

Driven Diesel 7.3L "Bowl Delete" Regulated Return Kit

Dennis has changed it from the kit I have I see and I like it even more now...

You may think you have a built tranny... But I have gone thru 5 "built to the hilt" trannys from local builders... Maybe it will hold, maybe it will not. But dont think its bullet proof, 800fp of tq will eat them up.

About how you say... I have an AFE stage 2, and its a great filter set up, however you can go with a simple Filter on a stick (tymar and knockoff's) and get about the same airflow.

Stage 1 injector is commonly a 160cc injector with a stock nozzle. Stage 2 is commonly a 180cc with 30-50-80-or 100% nozzle.

Stage 3 is what most call a Hybrid, but a hybrid can be anything you want it to be... from 200cc to 400cc or more. With Nozzles from stock to 400% or more...

I can deffinently understand that, but Iam not going to be using it to near its full potential, so time will tell. What kind of upgrades would you recommend when I have the tranny rebuilt?

I was looking at the S&B cold air. Is there a stage 3?
