How to clean the engine?

What is the best way to clean the engine, I just bought this one and it is oily and greasy, can I just spray it with some degreaser and then power wash the entire thing?

I'd stay away from pressure washing... Our engines have a lot of electrical connections and pressure washing does no good in that situation...

Some simple green and a garden hose should do the trick...

So everything is fine to get wet, just no pressure?

I wouldn't spray water directly into the alternator, or fuse boxes, etc...but light pressure like a garden hose won't hurt anything as far as the electrical component connectors are concerned.

They're weatherpack...made to handle moisture.

Ok, thats what I thought, I usually use a brass jet nozzle for the garden hose on my other vehicles but they were gas, didnt think there would be much difference but just the same I thought I should ask. Thanks.
