What Chip or Program do I have???

I have a 2000 Ford F-350 that has a chip or program but I dont know which one it has, Where are they located or how do you find out what it has? I found a super chip sticker in the glove box when I bought it.

Welcome to the site!!!

I would bet money you had a superchips programer on there, I have not seen anyone running a superchips chip in years.

If the truck did not come with the programer I would bet it was returned to stock and you have nothing.

You can check the PCM which is located down by the E brake, but I would highly doubt you have a chip in there at all.

I took it to the "the best shop in 100 miles" and they said it was running probably 70 hp more than stock, the guy I bought it from said it had a chip/program, I was just wondering what program it may have so I know exactly what it has, I want to go to some sort of controller, maybe 110hp.

get some custom tunes on a 6. pos. chip, you'll never regret it, call up Power Hungry Performance, Swamps, Beans, Gearhead Automotive, really anyone of your choice on that part of it

Its impossable to tell, without the programer. Your kinda screwed now, because you should really have a stock flash on your PCM before chipping it.

I would get a TS based chip from one of our vendors, but take your truck to Ford and have them put a flash on the PCM.

Also you should have some gauges before adding any power, Pyro, Boost and Tranny temp are the normal 3.

What they said, Gonna be tough to tell if you're just going on what the mech said and the previous owner and a sticker in the glove compartment...

redneckpipeliner 05-27-2011 03:32 PM

Ok, thats what I was affraid of, and I have the standard, set of three on the pillar.

Lange503 05-27-2011 05:36 PM

fill out your signature so we know what all you have that way it'll be easier to tell you what to do next :tu: if you don't have intake and exhaust i'd do that next, if you do, then you're ready for a custom 6 position chip :choochoo:

Lange503 05-29-2011 11:04 PM

A tymar system costs 1/3 of that and will filter well and give your engine plenty of air...

I think that before I pay for a Tymar I will build one for half the cost of a Tymar, but I think I will wait and get a S&B.

Where would the chip be located exactly, down by the ebrake, but where exactly? There is a metal box, maybe 4"x5"x1 1/2" encased in plastic that sits just infront of the ebrake, is it near that, or in it?

CSIPSD 06-04-2011 02:52 PM

Not a great picture but yes, same area your thinking...

Mine is opened up to allow chip swapping without pulling the PCM and such, and cleaned up from that picture. LOL

Hard for me to tell what that is, is that looking towards the front of the vehicle just infront of the ebrake, like its the back of the module?

CSIPSD 06-05-2011 10:02 AM

Thats in the cab looking foward... The PCM is right to the left of the e-brake. I'll try and get a better picture today.

Ok, thanks, 1 a little further back so I can see the placement. I am thinking my truck has a program because the module doesent have anything that looks like this.

strokinf350 06-08-2011 11:04 PM

if you want an intake DEFINITELY go with a S&B intake. when i got mine i did a ton of research. they filter the most dust out and let the most air pass.. i know i love mine piece of cake to install :tu:
