Freeze Plug??
Today while doing a little burn out, water came flooding out the back of the engine block. I can see all of the freeze plugs on the side of the block and the back of the heads. The water appears to be coming from the back of the block. It pours out as fast as I add water. Does this sound like a freeze plug blew out? If so, what would cause that?

... Coming from the back of the block?
Not good my friend... Not good. Could be a head gasket, could be a cracked block... Could be the oil cooler, but I doubt it... Clean it up and find out where its leaking from. |
The tranny has to be pulled to see where it is leaking from. I think there's a freeze plug at the back of the block covered up by the bellhousing. This would absolutely blow if it's a cracked block.

Can you jerry rig a mirror type device to see where it's coming from?

I've got the truck in the shop now. It's a brand new motor. I had it for 30 hrs when this happened.
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- It was the freeze plug in the very back of the block on the pass. side. Looked like a factory defect on the plug. All's good. Driving the truck to Las Cruces tomorrow. |
