Antifreeze on oil filler cap

Hey guys, 2001 7.3 ambulance, best truck in the fleet, showed coolant on the oil filler cap this morning. I'll post a pic. Head gasket? Block? Trouble is these trucks may sit for a while and when a call comes in, theres not time for warm up. I'm more a cummins guy than a powerstroke guy so before we made a decision on what to do with it I figured id get some opinions. Thanks everyone. Pic to follow.

Also, the oil itself seems ok. No foaming, no smell. No separation as far as I can tell on dipstick.

Looks like dye to me. Antifreeze in the oil will show up as chocolate milk-colored liquid.

Drive it.

Second that, every time I've had/seen an issue it's brown kinda foamy oil.

That does look like dye, did someone take it somewhere for a test? If it were coolant it would be white, or like the others said chocolate looking.

Ok thanks. I guess we'll wipe it out and see if it comes back. I would have thought even for dye to get through that there would have to be a leak or issue somewhere. Haven't seen any milky liquid yet, just the bright green dye in the picture.

They will add dye to the oil to look for oil leaks and such, so that would be there...

Has it been serviced as of late?

Gotcha. I'll try and find the records to see if it was serviced for an oil leak or something similar. If so I'll call where it got serviced to see if they added dye to the oil.

Well I'll be damned, serviced for an oil leak a month ago, called the service center and they did use a UV dye. Thanks for the help
