7.3L help

Im currently in Afganastan, and i dont have alot of time to reserch the parts im lookin for. i have a 2000 F-250 204,000miles with a 4in turbo back ext. K@N cold air int. a FASS 90gph fuel syst. glow shift gauges, and a fully built Suncoast trany. on 37x13.5x20 toyo opin country m/ts. with a 6in lift. i had a banks tuner but i sold it so i can get 6 pos chip with custom tuns.

this truck is my baly driver and id like to get an honest 500hp on fuel only. i dont want it to smoke and it needs to be driveabel. id also like it to maintane the current mpg to.( i know the major factor is if i can keep my foot off the pedel)

the thing i need help with is that im lost on what injector size i should go with. and a stage 2 single shot, of a 3 hybred. and im lookin to upgrad my turbo to thr gt38r. would i need to replace the head studs with that turbo right away? and is swiching to a 6.0L intercooler as good as goin aftermarket?

and is ther any diff between the adrinaline and stelth hpop?

and what gear ratio would be the bet to swich to?

thanks for the help in advance.

For 500.. I would say a 238/80 and 38r would be a pretty good set up... Should get you pretty close to that hp goal. With good tunes you can achieve a little to no smoke set up until you goose the throttle pretty hard.

I would do head studs...it's added insurance, hate to have you build all this and then have an issue cuz you didn't do studs. I would do studs, springs, and pushrods. Cheap and well worth it.

The 6.0 intercooler is bigger, I think CSIPSD runs one, he can tell you more.

For oil, take your pick, either one will hold those hybrids.

with the 238cc's would i maintan decent mpg if i stay off the throttle? and any suggestions ware to look for the studs, springs, and pushrods? thank you varry much Smoker.

Yes, you should be able to still get decent fuel mileage with those injectors. For studs, See what kind of deals the vendors can get you on some ARP studs. For the springs, Comp 910 springs. And DI pushrods. :c:

If you are on a budget you could also use a van turbo instead of the 38R for a while. I would prefer the 38R or a modded H2E in the long run though.

Riffraff Diesel: Garrett GTP38R Ball Bearing Turbo

If you want 500hp then I would go with 238cc Hybrids or 225cc Stage 2's with big oil.

Riffraff Diesel: Injectors

Personally I wouldn't recommend either of those pumps, especially the new stealth as it seems they are still trying to work out the kinks and get it to run. I would go with a Terminator T500 or a Terminator Dual pump setup.

Riffraff Diesel: Terminator Engineering

For gearing you will want either 4.10's or 4.30's for the 37's. I run 4.30's on one of mine that has 37's and it is very close to stock.

Here is an intercooler link for you as well.

THANK YOU FOR THE HELP, im lookin into it all now.

I disagree on the choice of HPOP... I would much prefer the SRP-1... Or the AD from Dieselsite.

I make no qualms, I am NOT impressed with Joeys Mid oil, and I do not like dual HPO pump set ups.

No matter you will NOT need a HPO system for a set of standard hybirds.

I would also recommend you run the 37's with the stock 3.73 gears for a while first. I swapped to 4.30's and really miss the MPG I used to get on the hwy... Now I turn 2200+ at 65mph.

I do, but I would NOT waste your time with it. Saw less then a 50* drop in peak EGT's... I would go for water injection long before a new IC. The factory IC is fine for 99% of people and situations.
