Have you done a shift kit yet?

95powersmoker 05-04-2011 12:56 PM

Is it slipping at High RPMS or what? I know mine slips If I stand on it, drop a gear and then it shifts back.

i did check them but im not sure if i did it right, ive always been told to check it while the engin is running in nuetral.

N or P is fine, just running. Did it smell burned or bad? Was it full?

Could be as simple as a pump issue. I have a 95 bronco at home that is just a emergicy rig (has not had the oil changed in about 6 years... LOL) and it has a bad pump in the tranny. It will NOT move without going to about half throttle when you first drive it. Once it has a mile on it or so its fine for the rest of the day.

Might have to check the pump pressures. I assume you have a tranny gauge, pull the probe out and install some kind of pressure gauge that reads from 0-400psi. You should have about 150 psi at idle in P...

I have to go check by book to be sure on that, but its well above 100psi.

the fluid didnt smell burnt, wen i pulled the dip stick i couldnt tell if there was fluid on it i added 2 quarts and it seemed to help alittle, but it was dark so i couldnt realy check everything ill look at it today, if i mean a tranny temp gauge no i donot have one,
