I was thinking about just pulling the heads and getting rebuilt heads (exchange). That way Id start fresh with new everything up top. I have 250K+ on my engine and it just seems logical, I found a place where I can get re man heads for $400.00 each. Is this job super hard? Will I need special tools of any sort for head change? Any upgrades I should do while im at it? ( I am bone stock and dont have any $ for racy stuff).
Thanks in adavnce.

No reason to do this... I have seen trucks with 550-600k and the factory motor.

Replace the cup and move on.:tu:

So youre saying get the special tool and the cups and replace them with the heads on. What is your recommendation with th injectors? I believe I need glow plugs as its hard starting when cold. What else should I do while Im in there?

Never a bad idea to replace the glow plugs while you're in there.

What about the injectors?

id recomend new glow plugs and under valve cover wire harnesses, odds are after seeing the heat and oil from that many miles they are going to be stiff and brittle and may end up getting damaged during removal or re-install.

would a bad injector cup be a cause for a rough idol or miss? i dont have diesel in the coolent though.

Might be a symptom, but that to me is more an issue with injectors or o-rings.
