zf6 question

is there a difference in zf6 transmissions by years? reason im asking is im wanting to put a zf6 behind a cummins and i allready have a 2001 7.3 transfercase off a 4r100 with a pto (transfercase is manual operated) . will my transfercase bolt up to any zf6?

Not sure on the T/C question. But yes they are different. S6-650 is for the 7.3L. And the S6-750 is behind the 6.0L

awrite! im doin a crazy project... 1985 chevy body with 2001 f250 chassis and cummins engine. im wantin the toughest 5 or 6 speed to handle 49" iroks. and i already had a good transfercase off of the f250. i think the 7.3 zf6 and 6.0 zf6 had different output splines? just tryin to find out
thanks

yes the 7.3L ZF6 has a 24 spline output shaft. The 6.0L has 31 spline shaft..

Your T-Case would be a 31 splin shaft i think.
