No...Your turbo has a waste gate.

CSIPSD 02-01-2011 10:27 AM

You will need some kind of a MAP blow off or regulator, to keep your map sensor from seeing above 22psi. At that point the truck will defuel.

See here...

More or less... Boost fooler is more of a Dodge saying...

95powersmoker 02-01-2011 01:44 PM

Gotcha. Does my truck defuel after 22psi too?

CSIPSD 02-01-2011 03:31 PM

Nope... Superduty thing only.

fordornothing 02-01-2011 10:47 PM

i'm not sure what the older 7.3's defuel at but i hit 29 psi racing my buddy and it still had more to go. does any one know what the super duties can take? in terms of how much boost they can take before you break stuff?

40psi range is about where the head bolts give up, some go sooner some hold further.

Turbo is good for 25-30psi before its worth nothing more then hot air.

articfox 02-02-2011 05:04 PM

so can you set that to a max of 30 psi? and will you need to buy anything else for it? i was about to ask the same question

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

and who makes the best ive seen ats this one and kt performance has one for sale too whats the best?

OceanDiesel 02-02-2011 07:28 PM

Beans makes one as well, very similar to Stricly Diesel's. As for who has the best, I'm not sure.

fordornothing 02-02-2011 09:28 PM

so 25 - 30 psi is about the max before the turbo goes? my buddy hits about 35 on his 99 when he lays in it. and it's a stock turbo but he has a chip, intake, exhaust, and injectors

No. It really depends. A turbo wont last long boosting like that all the time. I can push mid 30's if I'm really getting after it. If i did that everytime i came to a stop my turbo would give up within a few weeks I'm guessing.

where do you install the valve? pics?
