has any one had any luck with single shot injectors?

ive been looking around at injectors and people say that single shot injectors increase your milage from 12-14 mpg to 16-18 . is this true? i have stock split injectors idk what the diffence is besides split shooting diesel and one single shot other than that i was just wondering if anyone had mpg increase useing single shot injectors :choochoo:

Would also help to know your set up as 12-14 seems a little low for most situations.

I'm routinley told 1 to 2 mpg increase is normal.

Then again I hear from guys that swear their '01 dually crew cabs that get 20 mpg.
I've been driving the 7.3 since I bought mine new in '96 and I call BS on mileage that good that's not a 2wd OBS (lighter, smaller).

Everybody wants more mpg these days. There is no simple fix or add-on to get you there. Driving style has more effect than anything.

Buy an older, cheap commuter car for mileage.

Regardless of what kind of injectors you have, it takes fuel to make power....plain and simple. Unless you do something to the truck that causes less power to be required to get to speed and maintain that speed, then your fuel requirements will stay the same.

That's just the way it is.

No, Cody, you have it all wrong.

"I drive a 10k# truck and tow a 20k# camper and I want 18 mpg.
Can't you do something to the injectors and tuning to achieve that?
I mean, diesels are supposed to be powerful and be really economical, so what's the problem?
I hear I need to get the Economy tunes will help a lot, too."

If I had a $1 every time a customer approached with this statement...

lol... Love the ones that say there getting 22-24mpg... Really, I'm getting 13 on a good day!

I drive a 8900# brick around town...:tu:
