a different high idle idea

so ive been wanting to add a high idle mod to my truck for a while now, to aide in warming up the truck, jump starting other people, and just letting the truck idle for extended period of time.i have an idea ive been toying with for a while, but before i start digging through wiring i thought i would post up to see what others think.

i know i can get an aic, or get high idle built into a chip , but what i wanted to do was try and run the high idle through the cruise control switches on the steering wheel.

ive got a schematic of the cruise control system ill try posting up. what it looks like is the cruise control system is givin its power on signal from pin # 58 on the pcm, which is a gray and black wire coming from the ABS module . i know the speed sensors on the front hubs and on the tone ring attached to the ring gear in the rear end send an AC voltage signal to the ABS module . so once a certain wave of AC voltage is achieved ( getting above a certain speed) some sort of switch is triggered in the ABS module and power is sent to the PCM pin, allowing you to turn the cruise control on. i think. lol.

im wondering if you can add a diode inline with that wire, so power cant feed back to the ABS module and on a switch, send the required voltage signal to the pcm allowing the cruise control to be activated anytime, as long as you dont push your clutch or brake pedal in. then in theory you could turn your cruise on and adjust the idle on your steering wheel.

the only concerns i see is number one the obvious, if it will work, and two is if the cruise will come on to aggresive with no load on the engine.

post away your thoughts !

thanks, kyle
