I have a 2001 f350 4 door dually with a 7.3 and a automatic trans. it doesnt have much done to it other than a diablo smart chip programmed at 90hp, a k&n air filter and 4" dinoflow exhaulst everything else is stock I am having a problem with cold starts. It will start after I cycle the glowplugs but it doesnt want to take fuel until it runs a few mins or has been plugged in. It will not rev up or move if its in gear even if the pedal is on the floor..but after it runs a few mins it runs and respondes fine..Can anyone tell me what I need to do to fix this problem??....thx

Weak injectors?
I had it put on a mobi computer and everything tested fine. The injectors showed to be good also.I think it has something to do with the high pressure oil..but I am guessing....
Cold oil... Let it warm up.:tu:
um ya you should let any vehicle warm up ESPECIALLY a diesel. don't fire it up and drive when its cold.
Definately! I always allow my truck to warm up...and High Idle makes it go quick
Could be weak injectors, but with any vehicle, you have to let it warm up. Good luck

You can run it with 30wt oil in the winter which will help with the cold starts and such, but the PSD is very oil temp sensitive.
yea I have thought useing a lighter oil ....but really would like to get the problem fixed...it has just started doing this lately....I had a 99 model f250 it started the same thing b4 the warrenty was up and the dealer finally fixed it after 6 trys but I never did get them to tell me what fixed it..

There is nothing to fix... Its cold oil, cold programing on the PCM. Lighter oil will help, but you need to let it warm up for a few minutes.
