I have a 2000 f250 and I was told by the mechanic shop that the PCM is located on the driver side half of it is inside the cab and the other is outside the cab inside the fender and directly under the cowl. Also was told that it is a common problem because the rain water that comes in the "cowl" (black grate under the windsheid wipers) drips on the pcm and is usally what makes them go bad. One of my friends has a diesel trucking company (semi's) and said when they experience a bad pcm they undo the ground and reset it and they have had some luck with that. (if the ground is not good it makes the pcm weak not saying it will work but if your shopping for a new one it's worth a try and again these are semi's not ford trucks.:hellox:

Take off the inner kick panel on the drivers side and you will see it in there and should show the numbers on the outside of the box.

The PCM is located by the parking brake. You will see a black box there. There is a plug on the outside of the fire wall, if your good you can see the PCM code there, but its easiest to just pull it.

What are you planning? What year (early or late 99)... You can get the PCM code without even looking, or as close as you need to, just knowing late or early 99.

No need to remove the kick panel, you will need to remove the box that holds the PCM.

there is a little black box right behind the E-brake, i think its a 7mm that holds its on? just take it off and then you should be able to see your pcm code, mine for example is a VDH5

If its an early 99 it will be an XLE, if its a late 99 it will be an NVK... This is assuming its an auto...
